Brandon Gould and Joe Rorick take IAC championships

WATKINS GLEN– Sixteen wrestling teams competed at Watkins Glen's field house on Saturday, Jan. 26 for the annual Interscholastic Athletic Conference wrestling tournament. The event offers both individual and team titles. Watkins wrestler Brandon Gould (99) and Odessa wrestler Joe Rorick (106) took home top honors with championship titles.
Gould wrestled twice in the tournament and in his final match faced Giano Silba from Newark Valley, who he pinned in 35 seconds. Gould was also named one of the Most Outstanding Wrestlers in the event.
Rorick also wrestled twice, and beat John Noe from Tioga 10-0 in the final match.
Collectively as a team, Watkins Glen finished the event in third place with 146.50 points including one first place finisher (Gould - 99), one second place finisher (Josh Burge – 170) and two third place finishers (Ian Chedzoy – 160 and Mike Brown - 220). Odessa finished in sixth with 100.50 points and had one champion (Rorick - 106), one third place (Adam Gifford - 132), and four fourth places (Bill Bacon – 126, Michael Fraboni – 138, Steven Bonham – 182 and Joe Wright - 220).
