Wine, food event ready for the weekend
WATKINS GLEN—More than 50 wine and food vendors will be in attendance at the second annual Seneca Lake Wine and Food event from around the lake, Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2. Last year, the inaugural event attracted nearly 1,000 people. Organizer Jeff Dill added he expects attendance to be more than 1,000 this year. Participating wineries from the area include Atwater Estate Vineyards, J.R. Dill Winery, Hector Wine Company, Villa Bellangelo, Fulkerson Winery, Standing Stone Vineyards, Damiani Wine Cellars, Lakewood Vineyards, Rock Stream Vineyards, Glenora Wine Cellars, Penguin Bay, Fox Run Vineyards, Anthony Road Wine Company, Red Tail Ridge Winery, Hickory Hollow Wine Cellars, Miles Wine Cellars, Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards, and Chateau Lafayette Reneau. The food vendors include Chef William Creations, Sunset View Creamery, The Village Marina, Veraisons Restaurant, Kirton’s Farm Market, Glen Mountain Market, Derek’s Restaurant and BBQ, House of Hong, Montage Italian Grill, Scuteri’s Cannoli Connection and Bleachers Sports Bar and Grill. The event will be held at Clute Park in Watkins Glen from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The event will open at 10 a.m. for previewing, but no sampling can take place until 11 a.m. The cost to attend is $50 for both days, $35 for either Saturday or Sunday, and $25 for the designated driver. Tickets include unlimited wine tastings, a souvenir wine glass, and 15 food sample tickets. Parking at the event site is limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis at $8 a vehicle. Satellite parking is available at Watkins Glen high school, located at 301 12th St. in Watkins.
