ODESSA—The 2013 Odessa-Montour graduating class received their diplomas at the Friday, June 21, ceremony in a packed auditorium. During the ceremony, additional awards and scholarships were announced. Several speakers also imparted their thoughts and wisdom. Valedictorian Danielle MacDougall said there are three times in life - past, present, and future, adding high school represents all three. "Our class continued old traditions and started new ones," said MacDougall. "Move forward and make progress in the future." Salutatorian Katelin Pierce said students need to discover what their talents are in order to decide what paths to choose in life, whether it's college, trade school, or the work force. She added high school is the place to do just that. Pierce told her fellow graduates to go out into the world and put those talents to use. Principal Chris Wood added the diplomas represent hard work on the students' part, as well as numerous struggles and friendships made.
