Yates Sheriff investigates burglaries
DUNDEE—The Yates County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a string of overnight burglaries in three Dundee businesses Wednesday, Oct. 2. These burglaries were discovered by the business owners as they opened their shops the morning of Thursday, Oct. 3. Sheriff Ron Spike said the investigation is still ongoing throughout the county. Spike said approximately $2,000 was taken from all three businesses from safes along with several New York State inspection stickers. The sheriff did not disclose the businesses by name that were burglarized. “Criminal investigators have determined all three break-ins are connected to the same perpetrators,” Spike said. “Anyone with information is asked to call Sheriff’s CID at 315-536-5176 or the anonymous tip line at 315-536-5558 as the investigation is ongoing and the evidence is being processed. Spike said these burglaries also coincide with two other burglaries that occurred Sept. 15 in the town of Starkey along Route 14.
