Dundee Girls Soccer The Dundee/Bradford girls soccer team lost to Bloomfield, Saturday, Oct. 31. The final score was 5-1. Scoring for Lady Scots was Madison Hughes. Kirsta Sleve made 12 saves. The girls fell to Marcus Whitman, 3-0, Wednesday, Oct. 28. No individual stats were provided.
Dundee Boys Soccer The Dundee/Bradford boys soccer team hosted Bloomfield, Saturday, Oct. 31. Bloomfield won 3-1. Scoring for Dundee was Peyton Boudinot. The boys also lost to Marcus Whitman, 1-0, Thursday, Oct. 29.
Dundee Cross Country Dundee's cross country team competed at Sodus, Saturday, Oct. 31. Camden Buchanan was 15th in 22:30. Alexander Leonard was 27th with a 24:52, while Devon Grandall was 32nd in 25:25. Jacob Shimer was 38th in 28:59. Alissa Eaves was 15th in the girls race (28:10). Rachael Butler was 21st in 30:58.
Penn Yan Girls Soccer The Penn Yan girls varsity soccer team recorded two wins last week. On Saturday they defeated Waterloo, 2-1. Hayley Andersen and Marrianna Dalglish scored with assists from Kaley Griffin and Andersen respectively. Elle Harrison made 10 saves. The girls beat Geneva, 1-0, Wednesday, Oct. 28. Individual stats were not provided.
Penn Yan Boys Soccer The Mustangs soccer team tied Geneva 0-0 after double-overtime, Thursday, Oct. 29. Penn Yan goalie Thomas Barden made six saves and defenders Nick Jarecke, Dylan Hassos, Caiden DeMarco, Will Steele and Carson Nagpaul assisted with the shutout. The boys defeated Midlakes 3-0, Monday, Oct. 26. Mason MacKerchar had two goals and Bryan Smith had one. Will Steele, Tyler Griffin and Brigham Hansen all assisted. Barden had two saves.
Penn Yan Girls Tennis Penn Yan completed their regular season undefeated, 10-0, and is the number one seed in Class B2. Sectional action began at the Mendon Racquet Club, Monday, Nov. 2. The tennis team defeated Palmyra-Macedon, 4-1, Saturday, Oct. 31. Abigail Garvey topped Heather Weaver, 10-1 in first singles. Sam Denson beat Alea Javorowsky, 10-3 in second singles. Grace Swarthout lost to Austin Hager, 10-2, in third singles. Molly and Claire Pullen shutout Sophie Lyko and Anna Kubasiewicz, 10-0 in first doubles. Jayden Hollister and Sydney Moravec beat Katie Schreib and Kaleen Anderson, 10-2 in second doubles.
Penn Yan Cross Country Penn Yan's cross country team traveled to Red Creek to compete against Wayne, Waterloo, Romulus and South Seneca, Saturday, Oct. 31. James Tette won the boys race in 16:48. He was followed by Aven Foster in ninth with a 19:16 and Zachary Smith was 14th in 19:34. Joddie Decker took the top spot in the girls race with a 20:04. Jaina Doyle was sixth in 21:37 and Grace Murphy was 18th in 23:25.
Penn Yan Golf On a brisk day at the Geneva Country Club, the Finger Lakes High School Athletic Association crowned a 2020 league tournament champion and qualified ten individuals for the 2021 Section V individual golf sectionals next spring. Penn Yan's Clayton Koivuniemi shot a 82 and tied for fourth. Max Brodmann had a 84 and tied for sixth. Both golfers qualified for sectionals next spring. Kevin Smith recorded a 89 for 12th and is the second alternate for the tournament. All three Mustang golfers are seniors. Juniors Griffin Emerson and Cameron Bassage finished 17th and 32th, respectively.
Hammondsport Boys Soccer Hammondsport's boys soccer team tied Campbell-Savona, 1-1, Friday, Oct. 30. Chris Becker scored with an assist from Nevin Davis. The Lakers fell to Arkport/Canaseraga 5-2, Wednesday, Oct. 28. Becker and Cooper Watson both scored for Hammondsport. Ben Cole assisted on both goals.
Hammondsport Girls Soccer The Hammondsport girls varsity soccer team beat Avoca, Saturday, Oct. 31. The final score was 3-1 with Sam Pratt scoring all the goals for the Lakers. Hannah Hoerter assisted twice. The Lady Lakers fell to Jasper-Troupsburg, Thursday, Oct. 29. The final score was 4-2. No additional information was provided.
Hammondsport Cross Country Hammondsport hosted Genesee Valley, Friday, Oct. 30. Liam Kressly won the boys event in 18:00. Eli Hill was fourth with a 18:44 and George Drake was fifth in 19:10. Both girls teams were incomplete..
