Hammondsport announces valedictorian, salutatorian

HAMMONDSPORT--The Hammondsport Central School District announced last week the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2023.
Luke Szathmary, son of Mr. Ivan P. Szathmary and Ms. Petcharat Nithipongpanit of Hammondsport, has been announced as the valedictorian of the senior class.
Szathmary is a National Honor Society member and has been active in drama, band/choir, soccer, track and is treasurer of his class. Szathmary's college choice is Cornell University. He will major in biology.
Cadence Butler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Laura Butler of Hammondsport, has been announced as the salutatorian. Butler is a member of the National Honor Society and has participated in drama, band/choir, cheerleading and she is the secretary of her class. Butler has volunteered for many community programs on her time, outside of school, and enjoys singing and dancing. Cadence plans on going to SUNY Geneseo. She will major in biochemistry.

Christopher Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. David and Wendy Hill of Hammondsport;
Ethan Buckley, son of Ms. Salina Buckley of Hammondsport and Mr. Nathan Buckley of Bath;
Blake Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Tonya Wright of Hammondsport;
Azure Sage, child of Ms. Tara Drumm of Hammondsport;
Stefania Tears, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Tears and Becky Bennett-Tears of Hammondsport;
Lucas Lampman, son of Ms. Jennifer Lampman of Hammondsport;
Johnathan Sprague, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Shonda Sprague of Hammondsport;
and Stephen Veley III, son of Mr. Stephen Veley II of Hammondsport and Mrs. Jessica Yarka of Bath.
Graduation is scheduled for June 23, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium or outside (weather permitting) at the Hammondsport Central School.
