ODESSA--The Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour Seneca Indians varsity football team won in commanding fashion, Saturday, Sept. 12 at Odessa. The team beat Elmira Notre Dame 54-32. The Seneca Indians led 38-6 at halftime, playing many second-string players throughout most of the third and fourth quarters. The offensive was led by Austin Dalrymple, who had 12 carries for 152 yards and two touchdowns. He was followed by Ian Chedzoy with nine carries for 120 yards and three touchdowns. Jordan Rappleye contributed 12 carries for 106 yards and Ryan Pruitt added three carries for 70 yards and two touchdowns. "It was a great day on offense," Head Coach Lou Condon Jr. said. "[...] The first week we were productive on offense, we just fumbled the ball. That's the big difference. This week we just didn't fumble the ball." Chedzoy and Jordan Shea were the leading tacklers on defense, each with seven tackles. Tanner Ryan added an interception. "The weather was kind of not so good but it was great to see everybody come out and support the team," Condon said. "It was a great environment." The team now stands with a 1-1 record and will play at Whitney Point Saturday, Sept. 19 at 1:30 p.m.
