Watkins tops Dryden, 86-73

WATKINS GLEN-The Watkins Glen boys varsity swim team topped Dryden, Thursday, Jan. 7. The final score was 86-73.
The 200 medley relay team (Matt Doppel, Lucas Wickham, Aidan DeBolt, and Dakota Cole) placed first in 1:49.49. Also winning first was the 200 free relay team (Will Fitzsimmons, Aaron Planty, Sean Holland, and Pat Bannon) in 1:55.09.
Matt Doppel was first in the 200 IM (2:12.56) and 100 free (50.13). Dakota Cole was first in the 500 free (5:57.65) and second in the 200 IM (2:44.64). Jacob Slater finished first in diving, while Aaron Planty was first in the 200 free (2:20.90). Aidan DeBolt took first in the 100 butterfly (59.97). Lucas Wickham finished second in the 50 free (26.34) and Pat Bannon earned second in the 100 butterfly (1:19.41). Sean Holland placed second in the 200 free (2:25.30) and second in the 500 free (6:35.83).
"Tonight was a great warm-up for the EFA Invitational," said Coach Len DeBolt. "We will see great competition from the 16 teams there and I think we are ready."
