Three Watkins Glen wrestlers win titles

WATKINS GLEN-The Watkins Glen varsity wrestling team took fifth overall at the Senecas' own Mike Watson Invitational, Saturday, Jan. 9. Odessa-Montour finished 12th. Vestal claimed the top spot overall.
Three Watkins wrestlers won championships: Ian Chedzoy (182), Brandon Gould (132) and Kameryn Sheldon (220).
Chedzoy beat Elmira's Tommy Mackay by decision, 7-3, for the championship win. He also won Most Outstanding Wrestler for the tournament in the heavyweight division.
Gould pinned Horseheads' Dylan Kellar in the finals (1:27), while Sheldon pinned Vestal's Justin Hess (5:06).
Kurtis Edwards (195) finished in fifth, pinning Sayre's Marshall Felt in 1:27.
For the Indians, Alex Repass (220) was third. Repass pinned Campbell-Savona-Bradford's Bryan Ragusa in 1:06 to secure his position. Collin Haag (126) finished fifth. He won by forfeit against Vestal's Mark Sola. Shawn Minnier (170) placed sixth, falling to Elmira's Richard Harper by decision, 8-6.
