WHITESBORO-The Watkins Glen girls varsity basketball team lost to Cooperstown, 62-44, during the New York State regional match-up, Saturday, March 5. The Senecas maintained a close lead through the end of the first quarter (13-11) and halftime (26-25), before Cooperstown scored 20 points in the third quarter to pull ahead. Leading Watkins was Amanda Pike with 19 points, including four three-point shots and three rebounds. Mariah Gonzalez recorded eight points and 11 rebounds. Clara Chedzoy earned seven points and seven rebounds. Allison Teed scored five points, with five assists and four rebounds. Katherine Meehan and Emmie Bond both had two points, while Madison Myers added one point. Watkins Glen ends the season with a 17-7 record.
