SPORTS RECAP: Week of 11-11-20

Penn Yan Girls Soccer
The Penn Yan girls enter the Section V B2 tournament as the number one seed after beating Wayne, 5-1, Saturday, Nov. 7. Hayley Andersen had three goals while Sierra Harrison and Emma Eichenhofer each had one. Harrison and Keuka Miranda-Wiltberger also both assisted.
The girls also defeated Mynderse, 3-0, Wednesday, Nov. 4. Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger, Sam Lane-Tomion and Harrison all scored for the Lady Mustangs. Hayley Andersen had two assists and Morgan Andersen one.
The girls will host the second round of sectionals at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 13.

Penn Yan Boys Soccer
The Penn Yan boys soccer team defeated Mynderse, 1-0, Saturday, Nov. 7. Nick Jarecke scored with two minutes left in the game, assisted by Zack Townley. Thomas Barden made ten saves.
The boys fell to Wayne 5-1, Thursday, Nov. 5. Townley scored for Penn Yan.
The boys are seeded number two in Class B2 for sectionals. Their first game is home Saturday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. against number seven Wellsville.

Penn Yan Girls Tennis
The number one seeded Penn Yan girls tennis team is competing in the B2 sectional tournament this week at the Mendon Racquet Club. The full results will be in next week's paper.

Penn Yan Cross Country
The cross country league championships for Wayne Finger Lakes are scheduled to be held Saturday, Nov. 14. The sectional championship is Saturday, Nov. 21.

Dundee Girls Soccer
The Dundee/Bradford girls varsity soccer team ended the regular season with a 1-1 tie against Red Jacket, Wednesday, Nov. 4. Madison Hughes scored with an assist by Nicole Peterson.
Kirsta Sleve made 26 saves.
The Lady Scots traveled to Red Creek for the first round of sectionals, Tuesday, Nov. 10. The results for the game were reported after press time for this edition.

Dundee Boys Soccer
The Dundee/Bradford boys soccer team defeated Waterloo, 1-0, Saturday, Nov. 7. Logan Ayers recorded the goal in the game.
The boys also beat Honeoye, 1-0, Tuesday, Nov. 3. Caleb Wakeman scored.
The team will open their sectional run at Campbell, Wednesday, Nov. 11 with a game at 6:30 p.m.

Dundee Cross Country
The cross country league championships for Wayne Finger Lakes are scheduled to be held Saturday, Nov. 14. The sectional championship is Saturday, Nov. 21.

Hammondsport Boys Soccer
The Hammondsport Lakers were beaten by Addison, Saturday, Nov. 7. The final score was 4-0.
The boys tied Campbell-Savona, 1-1, Thursday, Nov. 5. No individual stats were provided.
Hammondsport will take on Genesee Valley in the first round of sectionals, Tuesday, Nov. 10. The game ended after the press time for this edition.

Hammondsport Girls Soccer
The Hammondsport girls soccer team defeated Campbell-Savona, Friday, Nov. 6. The final score was 3-2. Sam Pratt, Hannah Hoerter and Tevera VanGorder recorded goals for the Lady Lakers. Hoerter also had two assists and Stefania Tears had one.
Rorie Whitcomb made six saves.
The girls fell to Avoca/Prattsburgh, 3-2, Wednesday, Nov. 4. Hoerter and Destiny Hammond scored unassisted.
