Hardy will resign as chamber director

WATKINS GLEN--Matthew Sharpe, chair of the board of directors for the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce, announced in an email, Monday, June 28 that Michael Hardy will resign as executive director of the chamber.
"It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that the board of directors has accepted Michael Hardy's resignation...Due to private family matters, Michael has expressed his need to spend more time in the Rochester area. Although Michael's last day has not been determined I expect it will be in the September 2021 timeframe," the email read.
Sharpe pointed out a number of accomplishments of Hardy including leading the chamber through the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing a new website, enhancing communication and hiring Events and Membership Engagement Manager Abby Lane and Director of Communications and Marketing Stephanie Specchio.
The chamber will begin conducting a search to find a new executive director over the next few months.
