SPORTS RECAP: Week of 10-13-21

Penn Yan-Dundee Football
The Penn Yan-Dundee football team defeated Waterloo, 27-7, Monday, Oct. 11.
Carter Earl scored two touchdowns in the game on quarterback keepers. Jon Bell also scored after making an interception of a Waterloo pass. Nick Slavick rounded out the scoring with a huge reception for a touchdown in the game.
PYD will now travel to Hornell, Saturday, Oct. 16. Their record is currently 3-2.

Dundee-Bradford Boys Soccer
The Dundee-Bradford boys soccer team beat HAC in overtime, Thursday, Oct. 7. Logan Ayers scored for the BraveScots in the first period and David Semans had the overtime goal with a free-kick.
The soccer team also beat Bloomfield, Tuesday, Oct. 5. The final score was 3-1. Ian Pavlina, Michele Van Cleef and Ayers each had goals. Josep Bustamante assisted once.

Dundee-Bradford Girls Soccer
The BraveScots soccer team fell to Honeoye, 3-2, Friday, Oct. 8.
The girls lost to HAC, 5-2, Wednesday, Oct. 6 and Naples, 5-2, Monday, Oct 4. Individual stats were not reported for the games last week.

Dundee-Bradford Volleyball
The Dundee-Bradford volleyball team lost in three sets to HAC, Friday, Oct. 8. Carlie Baker had one ace and eight kills in the game. Lily Hall contributed one ace, 14 assists and two blocks. Mikayla Schoffner added four aces, eight kills and a block.
The BraveScots lost to Bloomfield, 3-1, Wednesday, Oct. 6. The game scores were 18-25, 23-25, 25-20, 21-25.
The volleyball team beat Campbell-Savona in three games, Monday, Oct. 4. Baker and Schoffner each had eight aces in the game. Baker also added seven kills. Hall added 17 assists with six aces and three kills, including a block. Hayley Herrick recorded three aces and one kill.

Dundee Cross Country
The Dundee cross country team hosted a meet, Friday, Oct. 8. Alexander Leonard was fifth with a 22:50. Bryten Dunham took 16th with a 27:14, while Braedyn Fisher was 17th in 28:56.
For the girls, Alissa Eaves was 11th with a 28:24.

Penn Yan Boys Soccer
The Penn Yan boys soccer team shut out Waterloo, 6-0, Friday, Oct. 8. Brigham Hansen had two goals and one assist in the game. Alex Reyes Leon, Dylan Hassos, Owen Bishop and Riley Griffiths each scored once. Landon Berry had two assists and Jack Grabski one.
The team beat Newark, 3-1, Thursday, Oct. 7. Townley made two goals with assists from Hassos and Bishop. David Reid scored with an assist by Bishop.
The soccer team also topped Geneva, 2-0, Monday, Oct. 4. Carson Nagpaul and Reid each scored. Berry had two assists. Thomas Barden made six saves in goal.

Penn Yan Girls Soccer
The Penn Yan girls tied with Geneva, Friday, Oct. 8. There were no goals in the game.
The team also tied Newark, 1-1, Wednesday, Oct. 6. Morgan Andersen scored with an assist from Sierra Harrison. Elle Harrison made 10 saves in goal.
Penn Yan beat Geneva in overtime, 2-1, Monday, Oct. 4. Scoring for the Mustangs were Sierra Harrison and Andersen. Elle Harrison also assisted and made seven saves in goal.

Penn Yan Tennis
The Penn Yan tennis team fell to HAC, Thursday, Oct. 7. The score was 3-2. Winning for the Mustangs were Jayden Hollister (7-5, 6-2) and Rachael Garvey and Anella Tillman (7-5, 6-4) in doubles.
The tennis team also beat Pal-Mac, Wednesday, Oct. 6, 3-2. Recording wins were: Abigail Garvey, Hollister and Adelyn Emerson and Rachael Garvey and Tillman.

Penn Yan Volleyball
The Penn Yan volleyball team lost to Newark, 3-0, Saturday, Oct. 9.
The girls defeated Hammondsport, Friday, Oct. 8. Jammie Decker had three aces, five kills, and two assists. Alexis Parsons added one ace, one kill and one block.
The volleyball team also topped Waterloo in three games, Thursday, Oct. 7. The game scores were 25-22, 25-18, 25-18.

Penn Yan Cross Country
The Penn Yan cross country team competed at Dundee, Friday, Oct. 8. For the boys, James Tette was first in 18:39 and Anthony Wheeler was second in 21:07. David Madorsky captured 11th place in 23:22 and Brevin Cummings took 18th in 29:31.
In the girls race, Giana Ficcaglia was eighth in 27:12. Serenity Rodgers finished 13 in 36:06.

Penn Yan Golf
The Penn Yan golf team defeated Newark, 243-270, Thursday, Oct. 7. Cameron Bassage recorded the team-low 40, while Griffin Emerson had a 44 and Zac Smith a 47.
The Mustangs fell to Pal-Mac, 239-247, Tuesday, Oct. 5. Emerson recorded a 42.

Hammondsport Boys Soccer
The Hammondsport boys soccer team fell to Addison 8-0, Saturday, Oct. 9. The team also lost to Avoca/Prattsburgh 7-0, Wednesday, Oct. 6.

Hammondsport Girls Soccer
The Hammondsport girls soccer team fell to Addison, 4-0, Friday, Oct. 8. Rorie Whitcomb made 11 saves.
The girls beat Lima Christian, 3-1, Wednesday, Oct. 6. Hannah Hoerter scored twice and Sam Pratt once. Nichole Pratt also assisted. Whitcomb had three saves.

Hammondsport Volleyball
The Hammondsport volleyball team lost to Penn Yan in three sets, Friday, Oct. 8.
The team defeated Canisteo-Greenwood in three games, Wednesday, Oct. 6. Hammondsport's Emily Starkweather had five aces followed by Seneca Boscoe, Holley Kolo, and Leah Starkweather each with three. The Lakers were aggressive at the net with Kolo and Boscoe having eight and four kills respectively.

Seneca Indians Football
The combined Watkins Glen and Odessa-Montour football team defeated Cobleskill-Richmondville 47-13, Saturday, Oct. 9.
On the ground, Owen Scholtisek scored two touchdowns on 14 carries for 151 yards. Travon Jones added 11 carries for 136 yards, and Dominick Fazzary had 10 carries for 27 and a touchdown. Jones also had six receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown. Scholtisek made three catches for 39 yards and Fazzary had one for 16 yards.
Quarterback Cameron Holland was 11-for-17 passing with 162 yards and a touchdown throw.
On defense, Jones made four tackles, Scholtisek three and Jacob Marsiglio and Ryan Willett two.

Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour Swimming
The Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour girls swimming team defeated Waverly 111-74, Thursday, Oct. 7.
First place finishes were recorded by: the 200 medley relay team, Kendra Fish (200 free and 500 free), Alannah Klemann (200 IM and 100 back), Thalia Marquez (50 free and 100 butterfly), Faye Mooney (100 free and 100 breaststroke), the 200 free relay team and the 400 free relay team.

Watkins Glen Boys Soccer
The Watkins Glen boys soccer team fell, 7-1, to Trumansburg, Friday, Oct. 8.
The soccer team also lost to Odessa-Montour 3-1, Monday, Oct. 4.

Watkins Glen Girls Soccer
The Watkins Glen girls soccer team ended their Wednesday, Oct. 6, game with Campbell-Savona in a 1-1 tie. Maddie Tuttle recorded the goal for Watkins Glen. Lilly Ameigh had nine saves.
The soccer team lost to Odessa-Montour, Monday, Oct. 4. The final score was 3-0.

Watkins Glen Volleyball
The Watkins Glen volleyball team lost to Tioga, 3-0, Wednesday, Oct. 6. Melanie Wysocki had seven service points with four aces and two kills. Jade Scaptura added two digs, while Colby Thurston had two kills and three digs.

Odessa-Montour Girls Soccer
The Odessa-Montour girls soccer team defeated Newfield, Friday, Oct. 8. The final score was 1-0, with an overtime win. Tori Brewster recorded the lone goal in the game. Goaltender Eliza Starkweather had one save.
The girls also beat Moravia, 4-0, Wednesday, Oct. 6. Hannah Nolan had four goals in the game with assists from Brewster, Camille Sgrecci and Starkweather.
Nolan also broke Sage Garrison's school career goal-scoring record of 48 goals. She currently has 51 goals.
The soccer team defeated Watkins Glen, 3-0, Monday, Oct. 4. Haley Albertsman, Brewster and Starkweather scored.

Odessa-Montour Boys Soccer
The Odessa-Montour boys soccer team lost to Southern Cayuga, 5-0, Tuesday, Oct. 5.
The boys defeated Watkins Glen, 3-1, Monday. Oct. 4.

Odessa-Montour Volleyball
The Odessa-Montour volleyball team lost to Spencer-Van Etten in three games, Monday, Oct. 4. Adrionna Personius had nine service points with four kills. Hannah Kinner recorded six service points and nine assists. .
