SPORTS RECAP: Week of 12-22-21

Watkins Glen
Boys Basketball
The Watkins Glen boys basketball team defeated Edison 65-28, Friday, Dec. 17 at home. Mitchell Pike and Adam Pastore paced the team with 13 points each. Cameron Holland added seven.
The boys also beat Waverly, 55-35, Tuesday, Dec. 14. Pastore had 21 points in the game. Owen Scholtisek added 16.

Bowling
The Watkins Glen girls bowling team topped Newark Valley, 4-0, Thursday, Dec. 16. Maisie Robertson led with a 410 and Carly Arnold had a 396. Ava Cowan added a 378, while Alyiah Clink- Bentley had a 350 and Aubrey Kellogg a 348.
The boys lost 4-0. Mykel Cody had the team-high 477.

Boys Swimming
The Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour swim team fell to Waverly, 91-88, Tuesday, Dec. 14.
Recording first place finishes were: Max Ricca (diving) and Ben Swinnerton (100 breaststroke).
Second places went to: the 200 medley relay team, Caleb Reynolds (200 free), Liam Smith (200 IM), Jon Spencer (50 free, 100 free), 200 freestyle relay team, Nick DeLong (100 back) and the 400 free relay team.

Odessa-Montour
Girls Basketball
The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team lost to Spencer-Van Etten, 41-28, Friday, Dec. 17. Hannah Nolan scored 10 points in the game. Mackenzie Cannon had seven and Keyonna Garrison six.
The girls defeated Tioga, 50-30, Tuesday, Dec. 14. Nolan had 14 points, eight rebounds and seven steals. Cannon added 11 points with nine rebounds.

Bowling
The Odessa-Montour girls bowling team defeated Marathon, 4-0, while the boys fell, Monday, Dec. 13.
Courtney Davis had the team-high 487 for the girls. Sara Barr had a 482 and Jana Arias a 448. Angel Burlew posted a 446.
The boys lost 4-0. Benson Patterson had a 462, Zach Rounds a 437 and Austin Hoyt a 400.

Dundee/Bradford
Boys Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team won against Honeoye, 86-52, Friday, Dec. 17. Camden Rosemier led with 26 points and Logan Salvatore recorded 21.
The boys fell to Harley-Allendale-Columbia, Tuesday, Dec. 14. The final score was 70-59.

Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team moved to 4-0 with two wins last week.
The girls topped Honeoye, 55-20, Thursday, Dec. 16. Kendall Parker led with 21 points and four assists, rebounds and steals each. Hallie Knapp added eight points and led with 12 rebounds and eight steals. Jade Roussell and Mikayla Schoffner each also had eight rebounds.
The girls beat Harley-Allendale-Columbia, 52-37, Tuesday, Dec. 14. Parker scored 16 points, Knapp had 12 and Roussell 10. Schoffner also added 10 rebounds.

Penn Yan
Boys Basketball
The Penn Yan boys basketball team moved to 5-0 with two wins last week.
Against Marcus Whitman, the boys won 60-48. Tanyon Dunning and Oliver Connelly each had 13 points, while
Carter Earl and Brigham Hansen each scored 12 points.
The boys beat Waterloo 69-45, Tuesday, Dec. 14. Griffin Emerson led with 17 points. Connelly added 16 and Dunning 15 points.

Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls lost to Midlakes 36-32, Friday, Dec. 17. The girls also fell to Waterloo, 65-34, Tuesday, Dec. 14. Sierra Harrison led with 12 points. Jammie Decker had six points and 15 rebounds. Hannah Parsons also added six points.

Bowling
The Penn Yan boys bowling team defeated Newark, 4-1, Tuesday, Dec. 14. Colin Johnson and Ben Broome each had 617 scores in the match. Cameron Bassage added a 605, while Trenton Samatulski had a 596 and Connor Anderson a 499. The girls lost 5-0. Anella Tillman recorded the high 557 on the team. Andy Kniffin followed with a 543.

Wrestling
The Marcus Whitman-Penn Yan wrestling team lost to Wayne, Thursday, Dec. 16. The final score was 54-21. Mason Peterson, Jacob Eaves, Alec Benson and Nick Murphy recorded competitive wins for the team.

Hammondsport
Boys Basketball
The Hammondsport boys varsity basketball team fell to Jasper-Troupsburg, 62-31, Friday, Dec. 17

Girls Basketball
The Hammondsport girls varsity basketball team defeated Alfred-Almond, 52-15, Monday, Dec. 13. Danica Dresser had 23 points and Hannah Hoerter 17.

Wrestling
The Avoca-Hammondsport wrestling team beat Campbell-Savona, Tuesday, Dec. 14. The final score was 36-18. A competitive win was recorded by Nathan Young with a pin in 4:29. The rest of the team's points came from forfeits.
