YATES COUNTY--The Windmill Farm and Craft Market opens for its 36th season, Saturday, April 29. In addition to the excitement for a new season, there will also be a ribbon cutting to officially open the new construction buildings at the market.
The Windmill features over 175 indoor and outdoor shops on 44 acres located on 14A between Dundee and Penn Yan. It is now open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and also on additional days including Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day and Black Friday.
At the end of last season, a building project was started to replace and expand the northwest corner of the “street of shops.” The original sheds that made up the open-air market in that section were removed and replaced by a 5,000-square-foot facility that gives a distinctive “Main Street” style. The new building also includes both heating and air conditioning, a first for the market.
The new building will be dedicated prior to the opening day festivities, at 7:45 a.m., Saturday, April 29.
