Seneca Lake Wine trail will host ‘Rosé in May’

The Seneca Lake Wine Trail is featuring a new event this May that caters to locals and tourists: Rosé in May. The week-long event allows attendees to visit participating wineries over the course of a few days as schedules allow. Sixteen wineries on Seneca Lake are participating in this inaugural event May 8 to May 14. To purchase a tasting pass, visit https://senecalakewine.com/event/rose-in-may-pop-up/.
“This is the only event that has a tasting pass instead of a ticket,” said Seneca Lake Wine Trail Executive Director Brittany Gibson. “It runs through Mother’s Day, so it’s a great and affordable way for locals and tourists to celebrate with moms and girlfriends. A lot of rosés are just coming out, so attendees are likely to be the first to taste them.”
At each of the 16 participating wineries, the Rosé in May tasting pass includes one rosé plus three additional wines. Tasting passes sell for $35 each and entitle the attendee to visit all participating wineries.
“If attendees visit every participating winery, a tasting is just over $2,” said Gibson. “That’s a steal for our region and award-winning wineries.”
The event also features an opportunity to win two tickets to a 2024 winter or spring Wine Trail Event. Each bottle of wine purchased by attendees at participating wineries earns the attendee a stamp. Once attendees have collected a dozen stamps, they can send their pass to the Wine Trail to be entered into a drawing.
In addition to guidelines posted at https://senecalakewine.com/event/rose-in-may-pop-up/, attendees will select a “starting winery” during the online purchase process. Tasting passes will be available for attendees at the designated starting winery. After securing the tasting pass at the starting winery, attendees can visit other participating wineries in the order they choose.
