Summer bicentennial events are coming in Yates County

YATES COUNTY--As part of the year-long celebration of Yates County commemorating 200 years, villages throughout the county will have parades and other events to mark the anniversary.
The first of the summer events begins on Saturday, July 15 with a parade in Dresden. It will begin at 10 a.m., and events will carry on throughout the afternoon until 4 p.m. Potential parade participants can contact Brian at 315-729-4269 or Kathy at 315-536-2477 for more information.
The village of Dundee will celebrate not only Yates County but the village’s 175th anniversary, Saturday, July 22. Activities run from noon to 5 p.m. and feature a parade to conclude the day. The route will be from the school to Seneca Street Park, and steps off at 5 p.m. Additional information can be found on the Facebook page at https://tinyurl.com/dundee175 or by emailing dundee175celebration@gmail.com.
Additional events this summer include the celebration in Penn Yan on Saturday, Aug. 12 and the Rushville parade on the 26th. The Yates County Bicentennial Committee is encouraging all towns, villages and organizations to participate.
