Watkins Italian American festival begins Friday

WATKINS GLEN--The 2023 Italian American Festival will return to Clute Park in Watkins Glen, Friday, Aug. 11 to Sunday, Aug. 13.
The festival was established by a group of Italian Americans living in Watkins Glen to pay homage to the Feast of the Assumption, which takes place in August. As time passed, the festivities expanded into a three-day occasion that draws in countless visitors every year.
Schedule of events for the Watkins Glen Italian-American Festival:
Friday, Aug. 11
Noon - Festival start
12 - 8 p.m. Vendor Marketplace
2 - 4 p.m. Tanglewood Animal Experience
7 - 10 p.m. Rusted Bucks Band
Saturday, Aug. 12
9 a.m. - Cornhole Tournament (Bags fly at 10:30 a.m.)
Noon - Parade starts on 15th St. and Decatur; ends at 5th St. and Decatur
1 - 2:30 p.m. Doc Possum (family-friendly concert)
Italian Music throughout the day at the Old Pavilion
6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Band: Right Turn Clyde
9:30 - Fireworks over Seneca Lake
Sunday, Aug. 13
1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Music by MuirImage
“We are very grateful and want to say “thank you” to our small committee and the hard work they do all year to make this happen,” said the festival committee. “So, come down to Clute Park in Watkins Glen, and enjoy some good food, fun, music, and fireworks, don’t miss it!”
