Happy Holidays! The Observer and the REVIEW&EXPRESS each published a combined holiday edition with the dates of Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 and Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. There is not a new paper for Dec. 25. The next new edition is Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The office is closed on Monday, Dec. 23 and will reopen Thursday, Jan 2.

Penn Yan-Dundee Football
The Penn Yan-Dundee Football team was away Saturday, Sept. 9 to face Hornell in a rainy afternoon game. Hornell won the game 29-16. No additional stats were available at press time.
This week, the team will play in Dundee's homecoming game, Saturday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m.

Dundee-Bradford
Boys Soccer
The Dundee-Bradford boys soccer team won against HAC, Friday, Sept. 8. The final score was 5-3.

Girls Soccer
The Dundee-Bradford girls soccer team defeated Honeoye, 5-1, Tuesday, Sept. 5. Kendall Parker had two goals and an assist. Madison Hughes had a goal and two assists. Mykayla Pavlina and Bruna Crespo both had a goal. Ellie Fleet made five saves in the goal.

Volleyball
The Dundee-Bradford volleyball team defeated Honeoye in three games, Friday, Sept. 8. The scores were 25-19, 25-15, 25-19.
The team also won against South Seneca in five games, Wednesday, Sept. 6. The scores were 25-17, 25-16, 21-25, 22-25, 15-9. Addie Kendall had eight aces and four kills. McKenna Miller recorded five aces and six kills, while Mikayla Schoffner added five aces and 10 kills.

Cross Country
The Dundee-Bradford cross country team competed at the Red Jacket "Bob Goodell Memorial" Cross Country Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 9.
For the boys, Braedyn Fisher was 120th, Aiden Ryan took 125th and Joey Torpy was 129th.
For the girls, Cheyanne Grandall was 55th.

Penn Yan
Boys Soccer
The Penn Yan boys soccer team won an exciting game in overtime, Friday, Sept. 8. The final score was 1-0, with Collin Bacher scoring the game-winner. Nathaniel Chaffee made seven saves in the goal and defenders Carter MacKerchar, Tukker Fisher and Ti’Jai Moorer helped lock in the shutout.
The soccer team lost to Naples, 5-0, Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Golf
The Penn Yan golf team lost to Naples, 234-267, Wednesday, Sept. 6. Colin Johnson shot a personal-best 43 in the match. Will Thompson had a 48.

Cross Country
The Penn Yan cross country team of Eva Smith, Ameina Samultalski and Madison Bishop took third overall out of 33 teams in the Dash in the Dark Relays at the Oakfield Alabama Invite, Friday, Sept. 8.

Volleyball
The Penn Yan volleyball team lost to Bloomfield in three games, Friday, Sept. 8. The scores were 10-25, 14-25, 24-26.
The team won over Mynderse Academy, Wednesday, Sept. 6. The three-game victory came with scores of 25-20, 25-14, 25-17.

Hammondsport
Boys Soccer
The Hammondsport boys soccer team lost to Perry, 10-2, Friday, Sept. 8.

Girls Soccer
The Hammondsport girls soccer team fell to Lima Christian, 1-0, Thursday, Sept. 7. The girls tied Canisteo-Greenwood/Jasper-Troupsburg 0-0, Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Volleyball
The Hammondsport varsity volleyball team fell to Campbell-Savona in three games, Friday, Sept. 8. The Lakers also lost to Houghton Academy, Thursday, Sept. 7. Game scores were 10-25, 19-25, 12-25.

Schuyler Storm
Football
The Schuyler Storm football team defeated the Lansing Bobcats, 26-15, Saturday, Sept. 9.
On the ground, Bradley Gillis had 10 carries for 109 yards. Thomas Snow recorded 12 carries with 88 yards and Ryan Willett posted 13 carries for 66 yards.
Quarterback Gavin Lohmeyer was 4-for-8 through the air with 57 yards and one touchdown pass.
Brad Gillis completed two catches for 34 yards and a touchdown. Snow made one catch for 14 yards and Willett had one catch for nine yards.
On defense, Snow posted nine tackles. Aries Harler made five.

Girls Swimming
The Schuyler Storm swimming team defeated Dryden 104-61, Thursday, Sept. 7. Emily Melveney had four wins, Thalia Marquez recorded three as did Alannah Klemann. Kendra Fish recorded two first places and one second.

Watkins Glen
Boys Soccer
The Watkins Glen boys soccer team played Trumansburg, Wednesday, Sept. 6 and fell 4-1. Goalie Caleb Bresett had 11 saves for Watkins Glen. The goal was scored by Liam Smith, assisted by Michael Purpura.

Girls Soccer
The Watkins Glen girls soccer team won against Elmira Notre Dame, Wednesday, Sept. 6. The final score was 4-1. Sasha Honrath had two goals. Ava Kelly and Skye Honrath each scored one. Goalie Lilly Ameigh made eight saves.

Cross Country
The Watkins Glen cross country team competed in the Crusader Clash at Elmira Notre Dame, Saturday, Sept. 9. Johnny VanScoyk was sixth with a 14:39.5. Isaac Hendrickson was 15th with a 15:43.2. Aidan Maphis posted a 16th place finish in 15:54.2. Nicholas Bonsignore was 25th in 16:51.4. Dominic Gublo took 30th with a 17:16.2.

Odessa-Montour
Boys Soccer
The Odessa-Montour boys soccer team fell to Notre Dame, Thursday, Sept. 7. The final score was 2-0. The Grizzlies had six shots on goal and one cornerkick.  

Girls Soccer
The Odessa-Montour girls soccer team lost to Newark Valley, 2-1, Wednesday, Sept. 6. Leah Antes scored one goal and Evvie Zinger had the assist. Jackie Mace made five saves in the goal.

Volleyball
The Odessa-Montour volleyball team lost two games last week. They fell to Groton on Thursday and Newfield on Wednesday.
