MONTOUR FALLS-As the vibrant hues of autumn begin to paint the landscape, many communities across New York come together to celebrate the season. The Montour Falls Harvest Festival, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7 from noon to 7:30 p.m. on Main Street in Montour Falls will offer day-long entertainment for the whole family.
Celebrations for the 16th annual Falls Harvest Festival include a line-up of live entertainment and a variety of unique local craft and food vendors.
There will be ghost walks, a glimpse into the area’s history and don’t miss the performance by the Allegany River Indian Dancers.
The festival concludes with a community bonfire and fireworks display cascading over the 156-foot Shequaga Falls located in the center of Montour Falls.
The list of activities include:
12 p.m. National Anthem, sung by America’s Got Talent Holly Campbell
12 p.m.-1 p.m. Tanglewood Nature Center: Amazing Animals
12:30 p.m. Schuyler Historical County Ghost Walk
1 p.m.-2 p.m. Nate the Great: Juggling, Music, Comedy
2 p.m.-3 p.m. Allegany River Indian Dancers
2:30 p.m. Schuyler Historical County Ghost Walk
3 p.m.-4 p.m. Nate the Great
4 p.m.-7 p.m. Still Kickin’
4:30 p.m. Schuyler Historical County Ghost Walk
7:15 p.m. Fireworks over Shequaga Falls
“This festival celebrates not only the end of the harvest season but all of the great things our community has to offer,” said Bruce Boughton, harvest festival chair. “An event like this cannot take place without the full support of the Village of Montour, all of our great and generous sponsors, the hard work done by the planning committee and various volunteers, and the community as a whole. We look forward to seeing you all at the festival on Saturday.”
