DUNDEE-The fifth annual Dundee Funtober Fest will be Saturday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival is held at Millard Park on Spring Street and is organized by Mary Cornish, Ally Moore and Caitlyn Cornish. The aim of the family-friendly festival is to provide a fun and safe environment for families to celebrate the fall season. The festival’s main focus is on providing free, family-friendly games and activities such as hayrides, pumpkin bowling, fall sensory bins, and more.
Funtober Fest has always been held on the third full weekend of October. Based on community surveys conducted over the past four years organizers have decided to try a new one-day format. The event will feature local vendors, including Crosswinds Farm and Creamery, the Dundee Masonic Lodge and more. Additionally, there will be basket raffles and a 50/50 raffle.
There will also be a chili cook-off at the festival, and any interested competitors are still welcome to participate. To sign up, call or text Caitlyn Cornish at 315-694-3679, and make sure to have your chili ready by 11:45 a.m. with all toppings and ingredients. Be prepared to serve from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m., tastings are available for $1.00 each. Judging at 12:45 p.m. and prizes awarded at 1:00 p.m.
