PENN YAN-Trunk or Treat events have become increasingly popular across the United States as a safer and more family-friendly alternative to traditional trick-or-treating. On Saturday, Oct. 21, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Main Street in Penn Yan will be transformed into a spooktacular Halloween party for kids of all ages.
This year’s Halloween event will feature a costume parade and contest, games, food trucks, a live DJ, and prizes for best costume and trunk decorations judged by local celebrities.
Car parking and setup begins at 3:00 p.m., and costume registration is at 3:30 p.m. The idea behind Trunk or Treat is that residents, businesses, and organizations decorate the trunks of their cars with Halloween-themed decorations and hand out candy and treats to children who come in costume.
To participate, simply register your vehicle using the form available on the Penn Yan 2023 Trunk or Treat Facebook event page. Please note that all participating cars must remain on location until 7:00 p.m. and are kindly requested to donate $10 per vehicle.
