WATKINS GLEN-The Watkins Glen Chamber of Commerce (presented by Visions Federal Credit Union) has launched the StartUp FLX Program, an initiative aimed at supporting and empowering startups in the Finger Lakes region and designed to drive economic growth and promote entrepreneurship.
“The Watkins Glen Area Chamber is thrilled to announce that registration is open for our annual entrepreneurial training program, StartUp FLX,” said Abby Lane, events and membership manager at the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce. “This program is meant to offer people interested in starting a business access to the expertise needed to bring their dreams to life. It’s also great for people who are already in business and are looking for tips on business trends or refreshers on best practices.”
These training sessions will cover essential subjects such as startup fundamentals, marketing, and fundraising for your business. Local small business owners and leaders will share their expertise and experiences, giving insights into the challenges and rewards of running a business.
Program topics include business plan fundamentals, building your brand, digital marketing and communications, access to financing, legal issues and the small business, and mindset for success.
Dan DeRusha of Finger Lakes Distilling will be part of the building your brand panel and said, “I have found that success in business in this region is more about collaboration than competition, and this program provides a great opportunity for new entrepreneurs to not only sharpen their skills, but also build a network of like-minded entrepreneurs, open new doors, and receive direct introductions to the many resources available to small business in the region.”
The six-week StartUp FLX Program is $99 and begins Nov. 7 through the end of the year. Entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners in the Finger Lakes region are encouraged to visit the chamber events webpage on the chamber website www.explorewatkinsglen.com to sign up.
