The Schuyler County Office for the Aging (SCOFA) has announced a new partnership with Blooming Health, a platform that helps the county to better communicate with older adults and inform them about available services to help them age in their own homes. This partnership will allow the county to reach out to older adults in their preferred language through voice calls, text messages, and email.
Through Blooming Health, older adults will be able to express their needs and receive assistance from SCOFA for emergency preparedness, nutrition support and educational information to stay physically and mentally active. The best part is that older adults and caregivers can receive these messages via text messages and voice calls, and they do not need the internet or a smartphone.
“Blooming Health is honored to expand our partnership with the Schuyler County Office for Aging to better connect the county’s older adults to the vital aging services provided by the county OFA,” said Nima Roohi, Ph.D., co-founder and chief executive officer at Blooming Health. “In this next phase of our partnership, we are planning to connect thousands of older adults in the county to the important services provided by the county OFA such as nutrition programs, benefits programs, caregiver support programs, etc. helping more older adults aging in place healthily and independently. We look forward to serving ALL older adults in the county,”
SCOFA is already utilizing Blooming Health’s platform to communicate with older adults about some of their key programs, including congregate centers, case management, HEAP, home-delivered meals, and caregiver support services.
The county will use Blooming Health’s platform to reach clients who have contacted their offices over the last year for information and assistance, vaccine support, services, or ongoing case management. If you are an older adult or caregiver who has received services from SCOFA in the last year, expect to receive phone calls or text messages from the following phone numbers: 607-695-5822 and 607-695-5844. When contacted, every client will be given the option to opt out of this service.
