Happy Holidays! The Observer and the REVIEW&EXPRESS each published a combined holiday edition with the dates of Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 and Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. There is not a new paper for Dec. 25. The next new edition is Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The office is closed on Monday, Dec. 23 and will reopen Thursday, Jan 2.

Dundee-Bradford
Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team defeated Marcus Whitman, 47-24, Friday, Dec. 8. Bruna Crespo and Kendall Parker each scored 18 points.
The girls also beat South Seneca, 84-45, Wednesday, Dec. 6. Parker posted 30 points and Kailey Yeoman had 25.

Boys Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team lost to Addison, 34-32, Saturday, Dec. 9. The team also fell to Penn Yan, 44-36, Thursday, Dec. 7. Chris Clancey led with 12 points and nine rebounds. Aidan Webster posted 11 points.
The BraveScots defeated South Seneca, Tuesday, Dec. 5. The final score was 35-23. Clancey scored 13 points with 11 rebounds. Webster had eight points and eight assists.

Bowling
The Dundee-Bradford bowling teams lost to Bloomfield, 5-0, Thursday, Dec. 7. Earlier in the week, the girls defeated Naples 5-0, while the boys lost 5-0. McKenna Miller bowled a game-high 200 with a 526 series in the girls win.

Wrestling
The Dundee-Bradford wrestling team fared well at the Campbell-Savona Holiday Duals. Second place finishers were: Zach Grant, Connor Erick and Tate Moore. Tournament Champions were: Riley Teeter, Peyton Mullin, Gage Machuga and Jacob Bartlett. The team was also awarded the 2023 Campbell-Savona Holiday Duals Team Sportsmanship Award.

Penn Yan
Boys Basketball
The Penn Yan boys basketball team defeated Dundee 44-36, Thursday, Dec. 7. The team also won against Naples, Monday, Dec. 4. The final score was 63-45. Liam Chapman had 28 points for the Mustangs.

Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team won against Wayne, 41-34, Friday, Dec. 8. The Mustangs fell to Wellsville, 57-52, Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Bowling
Penn Yan's bowling teams defeated Marcus Whitman 5-0, Thursday, Dec. 7.
Julia Maldonado paced the girls with a 552, while Anella Tillman and Bella Miller each recorded a 528. The boys were led by Connor Andersen with a 705. Colin Johnson added a 651 and Jaxon Jensen posted a 632.

Wrestling
The Penn Yan wrestling team competed at the Campbell-Savona Holiday Duals last weekend. The Mustangs won over Campbell-Savona 45-12. Recording competitive wins were Cullen Mahar, Ty Conover and Jacob Eaves.  

Hammondsport
Boys Basketball
The Hammondsport boys basketball team fell to Arkport-Canaseraga, 57-48, Friday, Dec. 8. The team also lost to South Seneca, 55-47, Monday, Dec. 4

Girls Basketball
The Hammondsport girls basketball team won over Andover-Whitesville, Saturday, Dec. 9. The final score was 54-25. The Lakers also beat Arkport-Canaseraga, 59-40, Thursday, Dec. 7 and South Seneca, 57-44, Monday, Dec. 4.

Wrestling (Avoca-Prattsburgh/Hammondsport)
The wrestling team competed at the Ark-Can Wrestling Tournament last weekend. The wrestlers won against Avon-Geneseo.

Watkins Glen
Boys Basketball
The Watkins Glen boys basketball team lost to Lansing, 73-55, Friday, Dec. 8. Christopher Simiele led with 30 points, four rebounds and three steals. Ryan Willett added 18 points and had four rebounds and on steal.

Girls Basketball
The Watkins Glen girls basketball team defeated Lansing 54-24, Thursday, Dec. 7. Rachel Vickio posted 17 points and Addy Coolican had nine.

Swimming
The Schuyler Storm swim team defeated Dryden, Thursday, Dec. 7. The final score was 102-72. Ryan Dean and Liam Smith each had three wins. Carson Thaete posted two wins and second place.

Indoor Track
The Watkins Glen indoor track team competed at the Finger Lakes Invitational in Cortland, Saturday, Dec. 9.
Madison Tuttle was first in the 1500 Meter Race Walk with a 7:40.89. Johnny VanScoyk took first in the 3200 Meter Run with a 10:57.15. Kyren Young finished third in the 55 meter dash.

Odessa-Montour
Boys Basketball
The Odessa-Montour boys basketball team won against Spencer-Van Etten, Friday, Dec. 8. The final score was 68-30. The team also ran away with a win against Campbell-Savona, 64-16.

Girls Basketball
The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team won against Spencer-Van Etten, 46-36, Thursday, Dec. 7. Leah Antes had 19 points and nine steals. Gina Gavich added 15 points and five assists. Keyonna Garrison recorded eight points and eight rebounds. Brooklynn Thompson grabbed 13 rebounds in the game.
The girls also won against Campbell-Savona, Wednesday, Dec. 6. The final score was 47-41. Antes led with 16 points and seven steals. Evvie Zinger recorded 11 points and eight rebounds. Gavich added 10 points and three assists.

Wrestling (O-M&WG)
The Odessa-Montour and Watkins Glen wrestling team competed at Elmira in the Dave Buck Memorial Tournament, Saturday, Dec. 9.
Lucas Hoffman (116) won in the final against Gavin Nordberg of Unatego-Unadilla Valley by a pin at 5:39.
Dana Guild (285) pinned Windsor's Luke Beattie in 3:05 to take the championship.
