Happy Holidays! The Observer and the REVIEW&EXPRESS each published a combined holiday edition with the dates of Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024 and Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. There is not a new paper for Dec. 25. The next new edition is Wednesday, Jan. 1.
The office is closed on Monday, Dec. 23 and will reopen Thursday, Jan 2.

Dundee-Bradford
Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team fell to Bloomfield in a tough road game, Thursday, Feb. 1. The final score was 55-47. Kendall Parker scored 24 points. Alissa Eaves added 10 points and Bruna Crespo had nine.
The girls posted a big win over Red Jacket, Tuesday, Jan. 30. The BraveScots won 85-15. Parker had 20 points, Crespo posted 16 and Kailey Yeoman added 12.

Boys Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team won against Addison, 47-43, Saturday, Feb. 3. Aidan Webster posted 16 points and nine rebounds, Chris Clancey had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Alex Goltry added eight points.
The team also beat Bloomfield, Friday, Feb. 2. The final score was 45-39. Aidan Webster had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Jeremy Stiles recorded 12 points, Clancey and Goltry each added six.

Wrestling
The Dundee-Bradford wrestling team competed in the Section V Class B3 Wrestling Championships at L.A. Webber Middle-High School, Saturday, Feb. 3.
Caleb Bartlett was second in the 215 division, falling to Caden Allen in the finals. Gage Machuga took fourth in the 190 pound bracket, losing to Jeremiah Romero in the consolation final.

Penn Yan
Bowling
The Penn Yan varsity bowling teams swept the Midlakes Eagles Thursday, Feb. 1 in a Finger Lakes East competition at Brock's Bowl.
The boys won 2984-2733. They finished the season 9-3 in league contests and 12-3 for the season. They were led by Connor Andersen with a 682 series and CJ Miller with a 619 series.
The girls won 2712-2402. They finished the season 15-0. That includes 12-0 in the league. They secured their spot as the Finger Lakes East girls champions. The team was led by Julia Maldonado with a 659 series and Anella Tillman with a 587 series.
The Mustangs hosted the Waterloo Tigers, Tuesday, Jan. 30. The boys took the match 3-2. The girls' team swept the Tigers, 5-0.
The girls were led by Tillman with a 652 series and Bella Miller with a career-high 627 series.
The boys were paced by Johnson with a 709 series and Miller with a 617 series.

Boys Basketball
The Penn Yan boys basketball team defeated Honeoye on a buzzer-beater by Matthew Tones, 68-67, Friday, Feb. 2. Liam Chapman posted 23 points and Tones had 20.
The boys lost to Bloomfield, 76-59, Wednesday, Jan. 31.

Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team lost to Waterloo, Friday, Feb. 2. The final score was 59-49. The girls also fell to Mynderse, 42-20, Wednesday, Jan. 31.

Wrestling
The Penn Yan wrestling team competed in the Section V Class B2 Wrestling Championships at East Rochester High School, Saturday, Feb. 3.
Jacob Eaves was second in the 138 pound division, falling to Cade Sands in the finals.
Kyle Northrup (145) and Reed Bouchard (285) were both third, winning their final match in the consolation finals. Kaleb Beardsley (108) and Caleb Schwartz (160) were both fifth and Levi Hilton (101), Ty Conover (131) and Ayden Taylor (138) all took sixth.

Hammondsport
Wrestling (Avoca-Prattsburgh/Hammondsport)
The Avoca-Prattsburgh/Hammondsport wrestling team competed in the Section V Class B3 Wrestling Championships at L.A. Webber Middle-High School, Saturday, Feb. 3.
Justin Wise (116) was a sectional champion, beating Barrett David by decision, 9-6, in the finals. Orion Davis (108) was second falling to Barrett Wetherbee in the championship match. Chase Mummey (138) and Dallas Brady (160) both finished fourth, while Tristan Davis (145) was fifth and Hudson Cole (124) and Devin Stamets (131) were sixth.

Boys Basketball
The Hammondsport boys basketball team lost to Arkport-Canaseraga, Tuesday, Jan. 30. The final score was 59-40.

Girls Basketball
The Hammondsport girls basketball team won over Addison, 35-15, Thursday, Feb. 1. The team also beat Friendship-Scio, 60-26, Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Watkins Glen
Boys Basketball
The Watkins Glen boys basketball team won against Edison, Friday, Feb. 2. The final score was 52-26. Christopher Simiele and Ryan Willett each scored 15 points.
The boys lost to Notre Dame, 61-54, Tuesday, Jan. 30. Alex Holmes had 16 points. Simiele posted 11.

Girls Basketball
The Watkins Glen girls basketball team beat Edison, 68-57, Friday, Feb. 2.
The team also won against Notre Dame, Wednesday, Jan. 31. The final score was 52-29.

Swimming (WG&O-M)
The Schuyler Storm swim team won against Southern Cayuga, 113-43, Thursday, Feb. 1. Liam Smith posted four first place finishes. Vinnie Ocasio had three firsts and one second place finish. Andre Wixson and Carson Thaete each recorded two first place wins and two second places.

Odessa-Montour
Wrestling (O-M&WG)
The Schuyler Storm wrestling team competed in the Section IV Class B tournament, Saturday, Feb. 3 at Greene.
Lucas Hoffman (116) took the championship, winning in the finals over Justin Somers by decision 5-2.
Three wrestlers were fourth: Daniel Coston (138), Dana Guild (215) and Aidan Summers (285). Fifth place finishers included Jared Watson (131), Jaymes Forker (145), Ean Walsh (160) and Patrick Croft (215).

Boys Basketball
The Odessa-Montour boys basketball team lost to Candor, Friday, Feb. 2. The final score was 53-46.

Girls Basketball
The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team fell to Candor, 53-43, Thursday, Feb. 1. Gina Gavich scored 13 points.
