Week of 3-12-25
BraveScots fall in semifinal game
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team fell to York in the Section V Class C2 semifinal game, Wednesday, March 5. The final score was 58-39 at Avon high school.
Kendall Parker led with 22 points. Riley Stinson added five points and Carsen Larrison posted four.
York went on to lose to Keshequa, 57-52, for the sectional title at Finger Lakes Community College. Keshequa was the top seed in the division. Dundee-Bradford was second and York third.

Dundee-Bradford
Wrestling
Dundee's Peyton Mullin won a second consecutive state championship at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association tournament, Thursday, Feb. 27.
This was NYSPHSAA's first-ever girls wrestling individual state championship and was held at MVP Arena in downtown Albany. The venue has hosted the boys championships since 2005.
The girls state championships saw 212 athletes compete in one division with 13 weight classes. Brackets featured 16 girls per weight class with the top six finishers being recognized on the podium. Girls from each of the 11 member sections qualified for this event and were seeded based on their performances during the season.
Mullin, a sophomore, went into the tournament undefeated and unscored upon, posting wins over ZaNiyah Hawkins (tech fall 10-0), Amelia Banker (pin 0:29), Jaslieen Salgado (pin 0:12) and Mia Flores (pin 0:25) to capture the title at 235 pounds.
At the girls basketball game on Saturday, March 1, Mullin was recognized during halftime and a fire truck parade was held in the village following the contest.

Boys Basketball
The number-one-seeded Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team opened the sectional tournament with a win over Kendall, Friday, Feb. 28. The final score was 51-38. Stats were not provided by press time for this edition.
The BraveScots moved on to face Bolivar-Richburg at Dansville, Monday, March 3. They lost 38-35.

Girls Basketball
The second-seeded Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team opened the Section V Class C2 tournament with a win over Genesee Valley-Belfast, 61-29, Saturday, March 1.
Kendall Parker led with 19 points. Riley Stinson added 11 and Marleigh Parker posted eight.
The BraveScots now move on to face York, Wednesday, March 5 at Avon.

Penn Yan
Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team upset Waterloo in the quarterfinal game of the Section V Class B1 tournament, Friday, Feb. 28. The Mustangs won 40-29.
Corinne Barden led with 15 points including five-three pointers. This brought her career three-point total to 104. Mady Pierce scored 14 points and Bailey Cooper had 10.
The girls opened sectionals with a win over Wayland-Cohocton, 65-30, Tuesday, Feb. 25. Maihue Miranda Wiltberger paced the team with 14 points, Barden recorded 12 as did Breanne Dunning.
The girls play Hornell at Honeoye Falls-Lima, Monday, March 3.

Boys Basketball
The Penn Yan boys basketball team lost to Haverling in the opening round of the sectional tournament, Wednesday, Feb. 26. The final score was 64-51.

Bowling
The Penn Yan boys and girls bowling teams competed at sectionals last week.
The boys took second place. Connor Andersen and Colin Johnson will advance to states on the composite team. Andersen and Logan Miller were selected to the all-tournament team.
The girls bowling team finished third. Bella Miller was selected to the all-tournament team and Anella Tillman will bowl at states on the Section V composite team.

Hammondsport
Boys Basketball
The Hammondsport boys basketball team lost to Jasper-Troupsburg, 68-32, Friday, Feb. 28 in the sectional quarterfinals. The Lakers opened the tournament with a win over Marion, 73-28, Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Girls Basketball
The Haverling/Hammondsport girls basketball team opened the Section V Class B1 tournament with a loss to Mynderse, 54-40, Tuesday, Feb. 25.

WATKINS GLEN
Boys Basketball
The Watkins Glen boys basketball team fell in the opening sectional game, Friday, Feb. 28 to Waverly. The final score was 66-44.
Jude Santos led with 15 points and six rebounds. Caleb Bresett added 9 points and four rebounds.
"The game was physical and inconsistent throughout which definitely made it hard for us to get into any kind rhythm," said Coach Scott Morse. "The boys played very hard throughout and did their best on the road against a very good Waverly team. Sectionals is never easy but I’m proud of the team for winning some big games to make the tournament."
He added, "To the seniors who played the final game of their careers, I can’t thank them enough for their commitment to the program and the talent they brought to the team. Nick Ritter, Brady Bockelkamp, Isaiah Rudy and Sam Caslin are all outstanding young men, and they will be missed. I know they will all be successful moving forward after high school."

Girls Basketball
The Watkins Glen girls basketball team lost to Sidney in their first sectional game, Saturday, March 1. The final score was 50-45. Emma Cady led with 11 points and three rebounds. Rachel Vickio posted 10 points and two rebounds. Brianna Hatch and Olivia King both scored seven points.
"The girls played hard and battled today," said Coach Alicia Learn. "Some calls went our way others didn’t. I am proud of what the girls accomplished this season."  
She added, "It was a privilege to coach this group of young ladies. We most certainly will miss our seniors Olivia VanSkiver and Addison Coolican, I cannot thank them enough for the commitment they put into our program. I am excited to see what the future holds for them."

ODESSA-MONTOUR
Wrestling (O-M & WG)
Schuyler Storm wrestlers Lucas Hoffman and Dana Guild traveled to Albany to compete in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association wrestling championships last weekend.
Hoffman finished in seventh overall with a 3-2 record, while Guild posted one win and two losses but did not place.

Girls Basketball
The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team lost to Unatego in the first round of sectionals, Wednesday, Feb. 26. The game score was 54-30. Leah Antes posted 14 points.

Week of 2-26-25
Dundee-Bradford
Boys Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team is the top seed in Class C2 for the Section V tournament beginning this week. The BraveScots will face either Clyde-Savannah or Kendall at Dundee, Friday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m.
The boys ended the regular season with a loss to South Seneca, 48-43. Earlier in the week the boys easily won over Eugenio Maria DeHostos Charter, 60-35. Chris Clancey led with 28 points, eight rebounds, five steals and four assists.

Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team is the second seed for the Section V Class C2 tournament and has earned a first-round bye. The BraveScots will play Saturday, March 1 for their first post-season game against either Naples or Genesee Valley-Belfast. Game time is 2 p.m. in Dundee.
The girls completed the regular season with a win over Marcus Whitman, 56-47, Monday, Feb. 17. Kendall Parker led with 23 points and Cheyanne Grandall posted nine. Korrin Yeoman added eight.

Indoor Track
Dundee-Bradford indoor track athletes competed at Nazareth University for the Section V Class B4 championships, Sunday, Feb. 23.
Sectional champions included Peyton Mullin in the shot put (33' 2.5") and Hamilton Iszard in the high jump (6'). Other top finishers included:
• Kendall Parker, second, 55 meter dash
• Marleigh Parker, second, pole vault
• Adalyn Tham, third, long jump
• Peyton Mullin, third, weight throw.

Penn Yan
Boys Basketball
The Penn Yan boys basketball team is the 10th seed for sectionals and will face Haverling, Wednesday, Feb. 26, away at 6 p.m.
The Mustangs ended the regular season with a loss to Mynderse, 69-57, Tuesday, Feb. 18. Braden Finger led with 21 points. Matthew Tones scored 13.

Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team opens the Section V Class B1 tournament with a home game against Wayland-Cohocton, Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m.
The girls closed out the regular season with a win over Mynderse, 40-25, Wednesday, Feb. 19. Mady Pierce led with 12 points. Corinne Barden scored eight, while Bailey Cooper and Breanne Dunning each had seven.

Indoor Track
The Penn Yan indoor track team competed in sectionals, Saturday, Feb. 22. Top finishers included:
• Lydia Sciallo, second, shot put; and third, weight throw
• Ashlynn Nielsen-Henderson, third, 1,500 meter race walk
• Anthony Sciallo, second, shot put.  

Hammondsport
Boys Basketball
The Hammondsport boys basketball team is the sixth seed and will host Marion, Tuesday, Feb. 25 for sectionals. Game time is 6 p.m. and Marion is the 11th seed in the tournament.
The Lakers ended the regular season with a loss to Addison, Tuesday, Feb. 18. The final score was 49-47.

Girls Basketball
The Haverling/Hammondsport girls basketball team plays in the first round of sectionals, Tuesday, Feb. 25. The team faces eighth-seeded Mynderse on the road at 6 p.m.
The girls fell to Wellsville, Tuesday, Feb. 18. The final score was 59-31.

WATKINS GLEN
Swimming (WG & O-M)
The Schuyler Storm swimming team repeated as Section IV, Class C champions in their home pool, Saturday, Feb. 22. The Storm amassed 494 points in comparison to second-place finisher Susquehanna Valley with 371.
Carson Thaete had four first-place medals for the championship. Alex Walters earned three and both Andre Wixson and Liam Smith had two.
Coach Jason Westervelt said, "The Storm swimmers and divers raised the bar for the program this season. Culminating the year with an IAC Championship, Section IV Championship, and four school records (200 medley relay, 200 freestyle, 200 IM, 500 Freestyle)."  
"A special thank you to Liam Smith our only senior," added Westervelt. "His leadership and team attitude were an inspiration to everyone who has ever been on a team with him. In addition to numerous first-place finishes we had some outstanding podium finished by Evan Clarkson (ninth grade), Grayson Robertson (ninth grade), Drew Popovich (eighth grade), and Hudson Westervelt (seventh)."
On Thursday, Popovich traveled to Elmira to win the sectional diving competition. He recorded 344.15 points. Lansing's Toby Rigdon was second (329.65).

Girls Basketball
The Watkins Glen girls basketball team won the Interscholastic Athletic Conference Large School title, Thursday, Feb. 20 at Tompkins Cortland Community College. The Lake Hawks defeated Whitney Point, 44-26.
Rachel Vickio led with 13 points including three-three pointers. Addie Coolican posted eight points and Brianna Hatch had seven.
"The girls were excited to be playing in the championship game," said Coach Alicia Learn. "We had a strong start but came apart a little in the second quarter. The girls played hard and finished strong. I am very proud of all the hard work and commitment this team shows. This group of girls have been very enjoyable to coach."
The team now moves into the sectional tournament where they will face Sidney at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 at home.

Boys Basketball
The Watkins Glen boys basketball team won against Tioga, Tuesday, Feb. 18. The final score was 50-31. Samuel Caslin led with 15 points and five rebounds. Christopher Simiele added 12 points and four rebounds.
The boys will now compete in the sectional tournament, facing Waverly on the road, Friday, Feb. 28. Game time is 6 p.m.

Indoor track
Watkins Glen indoor track athlete, Maddie Tuttle, qualified for the NYSPHSAA Winter Track Championship in the 1500 meter racewalk, finishing second, Sunday, Feb. 23 at Cornell University. Her time was 7:44.87.

ODESSA-MONTOUR
Girls Basketball
The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team will compete in the Section IV Class C tournament, Wednesday, Feb. 26. The Grizzlies will face Unatego on the road at 6 p.m.

Dundee-Bradford
Boys Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team won over HAC, 50-29, Tuesday, Feb. 11. Aidan Webster scored 19 points, had 10 rebounds and four assists. Chris Clancey posted 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Brody Ryan added nine points on a trio of threes.

Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team defeated Romulus, 81-27, Friday, Feb. 14. Kendall Parker led with 32 points. Cheyanne Grandall added 14.
The BraveScots beat HAC on the road, 56-30, Wednesday, Feb. 12. Parker recorded 25 points, while Korrin Yeoman, Grandall, Riley Stinson and Madalyn Knapp all had six points apiece.

Wrestling
Dundee-Bradford wrestlers traveled to Bath to compete in the NYSPHSAA Section V 79th annual Wrestling Championship and 57th annual State Qualifier, Friday and Saturday last week.
Shawn Labar was fifth at 190 pounds. He won his consolation final over Thomas Crissy of Le Roy by major decision, 14-2.

Cheerleading
The Dundee-Bradford competitive cheerleading squad competed in the sectional tournament last week. The team took 15th in the D2 classification.

Penn Yan
Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team defeated Midlakes at home, Friday, Feb. 14. The Mustangs won 37-27. Bailey Cooper earned 13 points. Bre Dunning recorded seven points, as did Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger and Mady Pierce had six.

Boys Basketball
The Penn Yan boys basketball team lost to World of Inquiry, Saturday, Feb. 15. The final score was 79-57. Aven Foster scored 13 points for the Mustangs, while Matthew Tones had 12.
The boys also lost to Midlakes, 51-41, Friday, Feb. 14. Foster led with 16 points.

Bowling
The Penn Yan boys bowling team won over Midlakes, 5-0, Tuesday, Feb. 11. Connor Andersen led the Mustangs with a 269 game high and a 713 series. The girls lost 3-2.

Wrestling
Penn Yan wrestlers traveled to Bath to compete in the NYSPHSAA Section V 79th annual Wrestling Championship and 57th annual State Qualifier, Friday and Saturday last week.
Ty Conover was fourth at 138 pounds. He lost in the third-place match to Andrew Spaulding of HFL.
Jacob Eaves finished sixth at 152 pounds. He fell to Noah Murray of Palmyra-Macedon, 5-2, in the final match.

Cheerleading
The Penn Yan competitive cheerleading squad competed in the sectional tournament last week. The team took 12th in the C classification.

Hammondsport
Boys Basketball
The Hammondsport boys basketball team lost to Avoca-Prattsburgh, Wednesday, Feb. 12. The final score was 75-39. The Lakers also fell to Friendship-Scio, 47-42, Monday, Feb. 10.

Girls Basketball
The Haverling/Hammondsport girls basketball team fell to Livonia, 55-49, Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Cheerleading
The Hammondsport competitive cheerleading squad competed in the sectional tournament last week. The team took ninth in the D2 classification.

WATKINS GLEN
Boys Basketball
The Watkins Glen boys basketball team won over Dryden, 60-50, Friday, Feb. 14 at home. Jude Santos led with 23 points, 13 rebounds and three assists. Caleb Bresett added 22 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Samuel Caslin posted seven points, five assists, three rebounds and one steal.
"Tonight was an incredible team win," said Coach Scott Morse. "It’s daunting going into a game against a very talented team ranked eighth in the state in our class, but the boys played with tremendous heart, stuck to the game plan, played together and left everything on the court. I know how badly they wanted to win on the night we honored Coach Scott. He means so much to so many people in the community, and that certainly includes the boys who have played for him for so long."
Prior to the start of the game, Coach Jim Scott was honored for 50 years of commitment to youth athletics in basketball. Former players, parents, students and staff gave a standing ovation to Scott who visited and embraced with those in attendance. A large group photo was taken at the baseline of the court.
The Lake Hawks lost to Trumansburg, 59-42, Tuesday, Feb. 11. Christopher Simiele scored 14 points with two rebounds and four steals. Santos added 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Girls Basketball
The Watkins Glen girls basketball team defeated Dryden, 71-23, Friday, Feb. 14. Addie Coolican scored 20 points and had three rebounds. Olivia King added 12 points, six rebounds and four steals. Brianna Hatch, Rachel Vickio and Michaela Wheaton each had eight points.
The Lake Hawks won against Trumansburg, 62-24, Tuesday, Feb. 11. Coolican led with 20 points and three steals. Wheaton had 15 points and three rebounds.

ODESSA-MONTOUR
Girls Basketball
The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team lost to Candor, 56-41, Thursday, Feb. 13. Leah Antes had 22 points and nine rebounds. Brooklynn Thompson added 10 points, while Evvie Zinger had nine.
The Grizzlies won against Newfield, Wednesday, Feb. 12. The final score was 51-31. Antes led with 19 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Vanessa Wood recorded a career-high 15 points and had five rebounds. Zinger added 8 points.

Boys Basketball
The Odessa-Montour boys basketball team fell to Groton, Thursday, Feb. 13. The final score was 72-49.
The boys lost to Newfield, 66-34, Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Wrestling (O-M & WG)
Schuyler Storm wrestler Jackie Mace was third in the Section IV State Qualifier Tournament, Saturday, Feb. 15.
Schuyler Storm boys wrestlers Lucas Hoffman (124 pounds) and Dana Guild (285) will attend the state tournament in Albany after finishing third and second, respectively, at the state qualifier in Binghamton last Sunday.
Hoffman won a decision over Jason Canedo of Deposit-Hancock, 1-0, for third.
Guild had a forfeit to Troy Beeman of Waverly in the finals to take second.

Week of 2-12-25
Dundee-Bradford
Wrestling
At the inaugural Section V girls wrestling sectional/state qualifier, Friday night at East Rochester, the Penn Yan-Bradford-Dundee grapplers made history.
Peyton Mullin continued her domination with another first-place victory and won the Most Outstanding Wrestler title. The 2024 state champion also became the first female Section V wrestling winner in Dundee history. Her record stands at 23-0 and she hasn’t been scored on this season.
Emma Sorce took second place in the 185-pound weight class. Zoey White wrestled well and took third at 185.
Savanna Benedict was also third, but at 132 pounds.
Overall the team took sixth out of 41 teams.
Peyton Mullin and Emma Sorce have automatically been entered into the NYS championship and will travel to Albany to represent Yates County on Feb. 27.
Savanna Benedict and Zoey White are eligible for wildcard entries.
The boys wrestling team competed in the Section V Class B3 Wrestling Championships at Lyndonville High School, Saturday, Feb. 8.
Shawn Labar was first at 190 pounds beating Dallas Brady for the title. Labar won by major decision, 15-4. Connor Erick (152), Caleb Bartlett (215) and Gavin Hall (285) all took third. Lebron Chilson was fifth at 101 pounds as was Gage Machuga at 170 pounds.

Boys Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team won against Bloomfield, 48-39, Friday, Feb. 7. Chris Clancey led with 14 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. Aidan Webster posted 12 points, eight assists and four rebounds. Brody Ryan added eight points and five rebounds.
The BraveScots also won against Naples, Wednesday, Feb. 5. The final score was 48-34.

Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team won against Naples, Tuesday, Feb. 4. The game score was 52-17. Kendall Parker scored 20 points. Cheyanne Grandall had 10.

Bowling
The Dundee-Bradford bowling teams lost to Marcus Whitman, 5-0, Monday, Feb. 3. Leading the boys were Samuel Holiday (411) and Lincoln Buck (404), while the top girls bowlers were Amelia Wood (346) and Alex Vogel (305).

Indoor Track
The Dundee-Bradford indoor track team competed at the Wayne-Finger Lakes Championship, Saturday, Feb. 8.
Top finishers included: Kendall Parker, first, 55 meter dash; Peyton Mullin, first, shot put; and Hamilton Iszard, fifth, high jump.
The girls were 11th overall and the boys finished 19th.

Penn Yan
Indoor Track
The Penn Yan indoor track team competed at the Wayne-Finger Lakes Championships, Saturday, Feb. 8.
Tony Sciallo took first in the shot put, while Lydia Sciallo was second in shot put and third in the weight throw. The boys 4x800 relay team took fifth place with a personal best time. The girls 4x800 relay team took seventh place with a personal best time.
Other personal best performances: Ashlynn Nielsen-Henderson race walk-10:10, Brisco Smith 1600-5:17, Finn Tette 3200-11:22, Phelan Fullagar 3200-12:28, Connor Goselin 3200-12:22, Lydia Sciallo Shot-33’9”, Lydia Sciallo weight throw-30’5”, Betty Chen 3000-13:23, Madison Bishop 3000-15:48, Eva Smith 1000-3:36 and Danielle Miller weight throw-25’2”.

Boys Basketball
The Penn Yan boys basketball team lost against Geneva, 73-67, Friday, Feb. 7. Matthew Tones scored 20 points in the game and Anthony Condella had 16.
The boys lost to Waterloo, 88-57, Tuesday, Feb. 4. Aven Foster led with 20 points, while Tones earned 14.

Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team lost to Bloomfield, 41-30, Friday, Feb. 7. Bailey Cooper paced the team with 15 points, Bre Dunning added six and Mady Pierce had four.
The Mustangs fell to Waterloo, Wednesday, Feb. 5. The final score was 53-48. Pierce led with 19 points, Corinne Barden scored 11 and Makenna Mullins contributed eight.

Wrestling
The Penn Yan wrestling team competed at the Section V Class B2 finals, Saturday, Feb. 8. Jacob Eaves (152) was the top finisher in second. Ty Conover (138) was third, Levi Hilton (101) fourth and Jared Kerrick (215) fifth.

Hammondsport
Boys Basketball
The Hammondsport boys basketball team fell to Canisteo-Greenwood, 85-34, Saturday, Feb. 8.
The Lakers won over Odessa-Montour in a mid-day assembly game at Hammondsport, Wednesday, Feb. 5. The final score was 50-43.
The team lost to Keshequa, 64-53, Monday, Feb. 3.

Girls Basketball
The Haverling/Hammondsport girls basketball team lost to Keshequa, 69-26, Friday, Feb. 7.
The girls defeated Addison, Tuesday, Feb. 4. The final score was 49-32.

Wrestling (Avoca-Prattsburgh/Hammondsport)
The wrestling team competed in the Section V Class B3 wrestling championships, Saturday, Feb. 8.
Dallas Brady was second at 190 pounds. Hudson Cole (124) and Taylor Pragle (152) both took fourth. Hayden Hubbard was sixth at 190 pounds.

WATKINS GLEN
Swimming (WG & O-M)
The Schuyler Storm swimming team won the Interscholastic Athletic Conference meet they hosted, Saturday, Feb. 8. The team won with 530 points to runner-up Lansing's 389.
Liam Smith had four first-place finishes on the day. Ryan Dean had three and one second place. Andre Wixson also had three first places. Carson Thaete, Alex Walters and Grayson Robertson each had two wins on the day.

Boys Basketball
The Watkins Glen boys basketball team won against Thomas A. Edison, 53-41, Friday, Feb. 7. Christopher Simiele led with 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Jude Santos added 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lake Hawks fell to Notre Dame, Tuesday, Feb. 4. The final score was 59-52. Simiele posted 19 points in the game. Santos had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Samuel Caslin added nine points and four rebounds.

The Watkins Glen girls basketball team defeated Thomas A. Edison, Friday, Feb. 7 at home. The final score was 46-26. Brianna Hatch had 10 points and four rebounds. Olivia VanSkiver added seven points.
The girls won against Notre Dame, 59-39, Tuesday, Feb. 4. Olivia King scored 13 points and six rebounds with five steals. Emma Cady added 12 points and four rebounds.

Bowling
Watkins Glen bowler Brett Cullen-Pike recorded a perfect 300 game in the match against Lansing, Tuesday, Feb. 4.

Indoor Track
The Watkins Glen indoor track team competed in the Section IV Class Championships at Cornell University, Saturday, Feb. 8.
Top finishers included:
• Madison Tuttle was second in the 1,500 meter race walk
• Kassitie Clugstone finished fourth in the race walk
• Isaac Hendrickson was fourth in the boys 1600 meter run
• The boys 4x800 relay team took fifth
• Aiden Nichols took fifth in the shot put

ODESSA-MONTOUR
Wrestling (O-M & WG)
The Schuyler Storm wrestling team competed in the Section IV Division II Qualifier, Saturday, Feb. 8 at Unadilla Valley. The team was sixth overall.
Lucas Hoffman was the champion at 124 pounds, beating Evan Johnson of Deposit-Hancock with an 18-2 tech fall.
Patrick Croft was second at 215 pounds, falling to Nolan Boyles of Unatego-Unadilla Valley in the finals. Taking third in the consolation finals were Hunter Barrett (145) and Jared Watson (152). Nick D'Alleva (170) and Dana Guild (285) took fourth.

Boys Basketball
The Odessa-Montour boys basketball team lost to Candor, 70-47, Friday, Feb. 7 at Odessa.

The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team lost to Marathon, 40-28, Tuesday, Feb. 4. Leah Antes led with 12 points, Brooklynn Thompson scored eight and Evvie Zinger had five.
The team also lost to Union Springs 69-31, Monday, Feb. 3. Antes contributed 13 points, Vanessa Wood and Olivia Rivera had six.

Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team defeated Honeoye, 57-19, Friday, Jan. 31 as senior standout player Kendall Parker broke the all-time Dundee scoring record with 1,767 points. Parker recorded 29 points in the game, passing Kate Cronin to hold the career record. There are still five regular season games left, and then sectionals will follow. Cronin is a Section V Hall of Fame inductee who graduated from DCS in 1993.
Also scoring in the game were Carsen Larrison with seven points, while Korrin Yeoman and Danica Hall each had five points.
The girls also defeated Red Jacket last week, winning 74-23, Monday, Jan. 27. Parker led with 25 points and Larrison added 14.

Boys Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team lost to Honeoye, 51-41, Thursday, Jan. 30.

The Penn Yan boys basketball team won against Bloomfield, Thursday, Jan. 30. The final score was 74-51. Anthony Condella led with 36 points, including six three-pointers. Aven Foster added 15 points and Matthew Tones had 12.

Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team lost to Pal-Mac, 44-36, Friday, Jan. 31. Makenna Mullins contributed 10 points, Bailey Cooper earned eight and Mady Pierce scored seven.
The Mustangs lost to Newark, 49-39, Wednesday, Jan. 29. Pierce scored 10 points and Mullins added nine.
The girls won against Wayland-Cohocton, Monday, Jan. 27. The final score was 66-30. Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger and Pierce each led with 13 points.

Both the boys and girls Penn Yan bowling teams swept Midlakes, Thursday, Jan. 30, 5-0. For the girls, Lyanna Shipman had a high game with 258 and Taylor Morse had a high series of 645. For the boys, Skyler Willoughby had a high game at 231 and Colin Johnson had a high series of 645.

The wrestling team hosted the Walt Peterson Invitational in Avoca, Saturday, Feb. 1.
Hudson Cole was third at 124 pounds, Devin Stamets and Austin Butler took seventh and eighth at 138, Taylor Pragle was third at 152, Dallas Brady and Hayden Hubbard were third and fourth at 190, and Justin Palmer finished second at 215.

The swim team also beat Southern Cayuga, 58-30, Thursday, Jan. 30. Posting two victories in the match were: Hudson Westervelt, Grayson Robertson, Smith, Dean and Andre Wixson.

Indoor Track
The Watkins Glenn indoor track team competed at the Section IV "Add On" Invitational, Saturday, Feb. 1 at SUNY Cortland. Madison Tuttle was first in the race walk with a 8:07.05, while Kassitie Clugstone took fourth. Aiden Nichols was third in the shot put with a 38' 7.5" result.

Wrestling (O-M & WG)
The Schuyler Storm wrestling team placed third at the Interscholastic Athletic Conference Championships they hosted in Watkins Glen, Saturday, Jan. 25. The team was third overall with 144 points. Newark Valley won with 191.5 points.
In the finals, Daniel Coston fell to Owen Clark for second place at 138 pounds. Jared Watson lost to Marcos Escalante, also to finish in second. Lucas Hoffman (124), Balan Ault (152) and Patrick Croft (215) were all third. Hunter Barrett (145) and Nick D'Alleva (170) took fourth.
Jackie Mace was third in the girls tournament at 126 pounds.
The wrestling team won against Moravia, 47-20, Wednesday, Jan. 22. Competitive wins were recorded by: Balan Ault (pin 1:56), Ean Walsh (pin 0:18), Joey Chamberlin (pin 0:43), Lucas Hoffman (tech fall, 22-5) and Gabe Crane (pin 3:24).

The Dundee-Bradford indoor track team competed at RIT, Sunday, Jan. 19. Placing in top spots for the BraveScots were: Ian Thompson finished second in the long jump; the boys 4x200 relay team took fourth; Ian Pavlina was fifth in the 55 meter dash; Brayden Rider was fifth in the high jump; and Ryan Longmore took fifth in the shot put.

Wrestling
The Dundee-Bradford wrestling team traveled to Waterloo to participate in the Wayne-Finger Lakes Wrestling Championships, Friday and Saturday last week.
For the boys team: Caleb Bartlett captured second place at 215 pounds; Gage Machuga was third at 170, as was Shawn Labar at 190; Connor Erick was sixth at 145 pounds; Gavin Hall took sixth at 285.
For the girls, that included athletes from Penn Yan, Bradford and Dundee: Peyton Mullin and Savannah Benedict were first at 235 and 132 pounds, respectively. Zoey White was second at 185. Third place finishes were recorded by Emma Sorce (185) and Lacie Flynn (235). In fourth, were Tinley Sheehan (114) and Ava Chilson (120).

The Dundee-Bradford wrestling team traveled to Red Jacket Thursday, Jan. 9 for a tri-meet against Red Creek and Red Jacket.
Dundee Bradford came away with the win against Red Jacket 39-33. Connor Erick, Gage Machuga and Gavin Hall all pinned their opponents and Caden Hill won his match with a score 5-1.
The BraveScots then matched up against Red Creek coming away with another win 36-27. Erick, Hill, Shawn LaBar all pinned their opponents.

Lucas Hoffman finished third for the Schuyler Storm at the Southern Tier Memorial Tournament, Friday, Jan. 10. He defeated Zaine Campbell in the consolation finals at 124 pounds.
Jackie Mace took eighth in the girls tournament.
At the River Hawk Round Robin, Saturday, Jan. 11, Joey Chamberlin went 4-1, while Nick D'Alleva and Ean Walsh were 3-2 on the day.
The wrestling team topped Lansing, Wednesday, Jan. 8. Competitive wins were recorded by: Hoffman (pin 5:28) and Patrick Croft (pin 1:17).

Boys Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team won against Bloomfield, 47-38, Friday, Jan. 3. Jeremy Stiles led with 13 points and two rebounds. Chris Clancey posted 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Alex Goltry added 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Aidan Webster had 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals.
The basketball team won the Hammondsport Holiday Tournament, Saturday, Dec. 28. The BraveScots defeated Hammondsport 64-36 in the championship game. Webster had 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Clancey contributed 14 points and three steals. Clancey was named the MVP of the tournament and Webster made the all-tournament team.
The boys opened the tournament with a win over Friendship-Scio, 61-34, Friday, Dec. 27. Clancey posted 25 points and six rebounds.

Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team won in overtime against Marcus Whitman, 37-36, Friday, Jan. 3. Kendall Parker led with 15 points in the win. Korrin Yeoman added seven.
The girls won the Addison Holiday Tournament, Saturday, Dec. 28. The BraveScots topped North Penn Mansfield, 61-38. Parker scored 21 points and Yeoman had 15.
The tournament MVP was Parker with all tournament team selections of Yeoman and Cheyanne Grandall.
The team open the event with a win over Odessa-Montour, Thursday, Dec. 26. The final score was 50-19. Parker posted 13 points and Grandall had 10.

Indoor Track
The Dundee-Bradford indoor track team competed at RIT, Saturday, Dec. 28. Top finishers included: Ian Pavlina, fourth, 55m dash; Brayden Rider, fourth, 55m hurdles and Hamilton Iszard, second, high jump and fourth, triple jump.

Wrestling
The Dundee-Bradford boys wrestling team traveled to the Odessa Duals Saturday, Jan. 4. On the day: LeBron Chilson was 5-0, Shawn Labar 5-0, Caleb Bartlett 5-0, Caden Hill 4-1, Gage Machuga 4-1, Gavin Hall 3-2 and Connor Erick 2-3.    
Chilson, Bartlett and Labar all were named “Most Outstanding Wrestler" in the their respective weight classes.
The girls wrestling team of Dundee-Penn Yan-Bradford traveled to Red Jacket for an all day freestyle tournament, Saturday, Jan. 4. Among the place finishers were: Zoey White and Peyton Mullin both took first place in their respective weight classes and Savannah Benedict was third.
The girls wrestling team also traveled to Midlakes to participate in the “Frosty Freestyle Tournament” over the holiday break.
Mullin recorded four pins (in a total of 1:23 and one in only 0:09) on her way to the championship in the 235 pound weight class. Mullin also recorded her 200th overall career win.
Sophomore Emma Sorce posted a 4-1 record on the day and took home fifth place out of 15 others in the 185 pound weight class.
Freshman Savannah Benedict took seventh out of 23 others in the 132 pound weight class and Lacie Flynn took seventh in the 235 pound weight class.

Boys Basketball
The Penn Yan boys basketball team lost to Haverling in the consolation round of the New Year Tournament in Bath, Saturday, Jan. 4. The final score was 55-51. Matthew Tones scored 18 points and Anthony Condella had 15.
The team lost the opening game to Corning, 96-58, Friday, Jan. 3. Condella led with 19 points and Tones posted 16.

Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team lost to Waterloo, 83-45, Friday, Jan. 3.
In the Haverling Tournament, the team fell to Wellsville (42-35) but defeated Haverling/Hammondsport (42-29).

Bowling
The Penn Yan girls bowling team won the Rush-Henrietta Bowling Invitational, Monday, Dec. 30. Julia Maldonado earned high game and high series honors for the team.

Indoor Track
The Penn Yan indoor track team competed at RIT, Saturday, Dec. 28. Top finishers included: Anthony Sciallo, first, shot put; Lydia Sciallo, third, weight throw and Eva Smith, fifth, 600 meter run.

Wrestling
Penn Yan wrestling participated in the 37th annual David Stewart Memorial State Farm Wrestling Classic in Hornell, Saturday, Jan. 4. Ty Conover was second at 138 pounds, falling to James Tang of Fairport in the finals. The team had 45 points overall, with Honeoye Falls-Lima winning the event overall.

Hammondsport
Boys Basketball
Hammondsport hosted a Holiday Basketball Tournament, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 27 and 28. On Saturday, the Lakers fell to Dundee-Bradford, 64-36 in the championship game. Henry Morrison was named to the all-tournament team.
Hammondsport opened the tournament with a win against Campbell-Savona, 64-47.

Girls Basketball
The Haverling/Hammondsport girls basketball team lost to Penn Yan, 42-29, Saturday, Dec. 28. The team also fell to Newark Valley, 42-29, Friday, Dec. 27.

Wrestling (Avoca-Prattsburgh/Hammondsport)
The wrestling team competed at the eighth annual Perry Varsity Club Wrestling Tournament, Saturday, Jan. 4. Hayden Hubbard was second at 190 pounds as was Justin Palmer at 215 pounds. Dallas Brady was fifth at 190 and Chase Mummey eighth at 145.

WATKINS GLEN
Girls Basketball
The Watkins Glen girls basketball team won against Notre Dame, 54-30, Friday, Jan. 3. Brianna Hatch led with 16 points and five rebounds. Olivia King posted 14 points, while Natalee Oliver and Addie Coolican each had eight.
The Lake Hawks won the Melissa B. Wilson Memorial Tournament at Watkins Glen, Sunday, Dec. 29. They beat Spencer-Van Etten in the title game, 55-13. Coolican led with 21 points. Hatch had six points and seven rebounds.
Awarded after the game: MVP-Coolican and All-Star-King.
The team beat Mynderse to reach the finale, 52-44, Saturday, Dec. 28. Hatch posted 13 points and nine rebounds.

Boys Basketball
The Watkins Glen boys basketball team lost to Notre Dame, 65-34, Friday, Jan. 3. Jude Santos led with 15 points and five rebounds. Christopher Simiele, Bryce Bockelkamp, Brady Bockelkamp, and Caleb Bresett all had four points each.
The Lake Hawks fell to South Seneca, 54-43, in the Holiday Hoops championship game at Watkins Glen, Friday, Dec. 27. Simiele had 14 points and four steals. Santos recorded 10 points and five rebounds, while Samuel Caslin had nine points.

Swimming (WG & O-M)
The Schuyler Storm swim team hosted the annual Invitational in the Glen, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 3-4. The team was fifth overall with 186 points. Carson Thaete had the highest place finish, third, for the team in the 500 free.
Ryan Dean was fifth in the 100 backstroke race.

Wrestling (O-M & WG)
The Schuyler Storm wrestling team won the dual tournament they hosted, Saturday, Jan. 4. The Storm was unbeaten, topping Dundee-Bradford (54-22), Ithaca (52-24), Marathon (69-4), Horseheads (42-35) and Whitney Point (51-23). Most Outstanding Wrestler honors went to Lucas Hoffman, Daniel Coston, Jared Watson, Balan Ault and Dana Guild.

The Odessa-Montour boys basketball team lost to Southern Cayuga, 66-59, Thursday, Jan. 2.
The team defeated Cowanesque Valley at Addison, Monday, Dec. 30. The final score was 77-50.

The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team lost to Southern Cayuga, Friday, Jan. 3. The final score was 71-27. Leah Antes earned 11 points and seven rebounds. Evvie Zinger added nine points.

The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team won against Naples, Friday, Dec. 20. The final score was 48-34. Aidan Webster led with 16 points, 16 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Jeremy Stiles added 14 points and four steals. Alex Goltry contributed six points, and was 6-for-6 from the free throw line.

Girls Basketball
The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team defeated Naples, 54-33, Friday, Dec. 20. Kendall Parker led with 26 points. Riley Stinson had eight.

Wrestling
The Dundee-Bradford-Penn Yan girls varsity wrestling team competed at the “Clash at the Creek” Freestyle Tournament at Red Creek, Sunday, Dec. 22. The team won 16 out of 22 matches.
Defending New York state champion, Peyton Mullin took home gold (3-0) along with teammate Zoey White (5-0). Savannah Benedict placed second (2-1), as did Lacie Flynn (2-1) and Emma Sorce (3-2).
White finished the day with five pins in a total of 2:20. Zoey also had the fastest pin of the day in 0:15.

The Penn Yan boys basketball team lost to Palmyra-Macedon, 53-38, Friday, Dec. 20. Matthew Tones scored 17 points.
The Mustangs also fell to Wayne, Tuesday, Dec. 17. The final score was 85-49. Tones recorded 20 points. Anthony Condella had 12.

Girls Basketball
The Penn Yan girls basketball team lost to Palmyra-Macedon, 45-29, Friday, Dec. 20. Breanne Dunning had 10 points, Bailey Cooper scored eight and Mady Pierce had six.

The girls won against Campbell-Savona, 58-31, Monday, Dec. 16. Zinger scored 19 points and had seven rebounds and four steals. Antes recorded 18 points, while Thompson had 11.

The indoor track team competed in the 607 Invitational at SUNY Cortland, Saturday, Dec. 14. Top finishers included:
• Isaac Hendrickson was ninth in the 1000 meter run and 20th in the 600 meter run.
• Aiden Nichols was 11th in the shot put.
• Benjamin Henry took 15th in the 3,200 meter run.

The Odessa-Montour girls basketball team beat Spencer-Van Etten, 44-36, Friday, Dec. 13. Leah Antes scored 14 points and had 15 rebounds. Brooklynn Thompson added 13 points (four-three pointers). Evvie Zinger recorded seven points, five steals and seven rebounds.
The Grizzlies won against Lansing, 54-42, Tuesday, Dec. 10. Evvie Zinger had a career-high 24 points (four-three's) and eight rebounds. Leah Antes scored 13 points with 12 rebounds and three assists.

Jackie Mace went 4-1 at the Union-Endicott Girls Tradesman tournament, Friday, Dec. 13. The wins came by pins and tech falls. The one loss was by decision, 7-4.

The Dundee-Bradford girls basketball team competed in the Waterloo Tournament, Friday and Saturday last week. The team initially lost to Honeoye Falls-Lima, 61-33, before beating Greece Athena/Odyssey, 55-26.
In their win, Kendall Parker scored 20 points. Riley Stinson had 14 points and Meredith Doan, nine.

Indoor Track
The Dundee-Bradford indoor track team competed at Nazareth University, Saturday, Dec. 7. Top finishers included: Peyton Mullin was first in the shot put and third in the weight throw. Hamilton Iszard was first in the high jump and fifth in the triple jump. Ryan Longmore took fourth in the shot put. Grady Cole was sixth. Marleigh Parker finished seventh in the pole vault.

Wrestling
The Dundee-Bradford wrestling team participated in the Lyons Tournament. Overall, the wrestlers had 39 matches, notching 32 wins and only seven losses on the day.
Highlights include: Lebron Chilson was 5-0 on the day; Cadan Hill 5-0; Caleb Bartlet 5-0; Gage Machuga 4-1; Gavin Hall 4-1; Shawn Labar 4-1; Carson Conway 3-1 - first ever match he won with a pin in the third round and Connor Erick 2-1. Hill posted the fastest pin in 14 seconds.

The wrestling team competed in the Larry Goodrich Invitational at Newark Valley last weekend. Lucas Hoffman was second, falling to Trevor Middendorf of Newark Valley in the finals. Patrick Croft took fourth. Jackie Mace was third in the girls competition.

Basketball season opens with Tip-Off Tournament
The Dundee-Bradford boys basketball team hosted the Tip-Off Tournament, Friday and Saturday last week. On Friday, the BraveScots won 62-48 against Midlakes before falling to Waterloo in the championship game on Saturday, 64-53. Against Midlakes, Chris Clancey posted 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Aidan Webster had 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Jeremy Stiles added 11 points, two steals and one rebound. Facing Waterloo, Webster and Stiles each had 14 points and Clancey contributed 10.
